You have at least .2 of hair on top of your head, so I see a man at his goal!

I am extremely happy for ya!

  2. Lynne Garcia says:

I think it’s awesome. You should party when you hit that 199.8 mark. You certainly worked hard and persevered to get there!

  3. Sheryl says:

You have stayed with it for 66 weeks, I am so impressed. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have started week 1 over. After a couple of days I throw in the towel and say what’s the use. Why do I do that? I definitely have health issues that can be resolved by losing weight and getting into better shape.

I have done it before but know after having my kids I just can’t seem to keep the drive going for very long.

What are some of your secrets to your great success?

  4. Al says:

Great job! Next week will be the week!

  5. Charity says:

I feel you, Tyler. I was only 2.4 pounds away from my Weight Watchers goal weight, but last Saturday I was up 0.8!!! I was so aggravated. I’m sure I’ll get there soon, just not on my little self-appointed timetable. But we shouldn’t take anything away from our accomplishments so far!

  6. kate says:

Well done you anyway! One hearty burp should clear this up.

  7. Jill says:

    You are a patient man!

  8. Tara says:

    Well shoot!!!!

I’m frustrated for you today. I know everyone here is like “congrats” but I seriously gave out a hearty “F**K” when I read your post.

Crossing over into 199 is probably something you never thought you’d see in the beginning of this journey and now here it is dangling right in front of you…grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I’m gonna go get on a treadmill and work out my frustrations for both you and me. If that scale doesn’t move for you next week I am seriously coming out there and taking a baseball bat to that thing.

All in the name of love of course 🙂

  9. Jill says:

    LOL @ Tara!!!

  10. Cassie says:

Damn it! I had week 65! Oh well…

Great job on the loss. It’s got to be such a great feeling being so close. Look at all the hard work you have done. And you will have this blog to look back on to remind you!

    Fantastic job!

  11. Mike B says:

Congrats! Amazing accomplishment, can’t wait to see how next week goes

  12. BossyMommy says:

Sooo close. I bet you hit your goal by tomorrow.

  13. Michelle says:

Congrats Tyler!! A loss is a loss, whether it’s a pound or half a pound..

I’m currently stuck. I don’t know what else to do.. so I’m upping my calorie intake which may be the issue.

  14. Jaclyn says:

    Youre funny ! 🙂

  15. Jaclyn says:

    Tyler the TANK,
    Next Week Hey!
    Next Week Hey!
    Next Week Hey!
    Next Week Hey!

    No squirrels for you!
    No squirrels for you!
    No squirrels for you!

    Si. I crazy!

  16. Patrick says:

Way to go Tyler! I’ve been stuck in a plateau since I lost 25 pounds about a year ago. Watching you keep going has at least kept me trying.

  17. Becca says:

It’s probably best for your body now that you’re losing slowly because you’re probably gaining muscle. Have you noticed any difference in the way you look over since the 7th?

  18. Becca says:

Um, I mean overall (not over).

  19. When does the scale ever read .0 anymore?

There’s always a “point something”, and for it to come up exactly 200 pounds? Sucks. I mean, obviously you lost weight and that was good, but to wait one more week to hit your goal wait sucks.

    No sushi this week, right?

  20. Congratulations on getting down to the 200 lb mark! How much more do you want to lose?

  21. Tyler says:

Maybe I’ve missed reading why 198.8 (vs 200) is so important? You’ve achieved all your other goals so just keep chugging along and it will happen eventually right?

  22. Tabitha says:

Way to go! I decided to start a weekly weigh-in on my own blog, too (imitation is the highest form of flattery?), and today’s my first one! http://bit.ly/937Szc

Ever since I started reading your blog, I’ve been really striving to be more intentional about exercise and healthier eating. But I still find myself back in bad habits like eating throughout the day even though I’m not hungry, and I decided that making my weight a public matter might help motivate me to leave the Cheez-its in the vending machine when I’m tempted… So, we’ll see how it goes! I’m 22.8 lbs away from my goal.

  23. ElGabachoNaco says:

Have really enjoyed reading about your journey. Your realistic approach is a breath of fresh air to those of us who have fallen off the wagon and tried all of the gimmicks a few times.

I’m down from 300 to 280 lbs in the last 6 weeks. Having my gallbladder out last week brought be down 10 lbs alone, mostly due to the nothing-but-fruit-and-lots-of-water diet. It feels great, and I know that the only way to get this done is to expend more calories than I’m taking in. Excited to get down to 200 by the end of the year.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences, insights and tips here. God bless!

  24. Tyler says:

No secrets. Just knowing I couldn’t let anybody down.

  25. Tyler says:

Not this week, my friend. Not this week.

  26. Tyler says:

    I’m probably done.

  27. Tyler says:

Because it’s my goal. 198.8 is what I set out to accomplish, 200 is not. Any difference health wise? Absolutely not.

But 198.8 pounds is my goal.

  28. Tyler says:

Good luck with the next 22 pounds! And great blog, too.

  29. Molly says:

Tyler the tank- You will get below 200 next time you weigh in. Good Job!

  30. k. says:

You have the best attitude! Also, you should get some sort of piggyback credit for inspiring weight loss in others. And that should TOTALLY count. 🙂

  31. TW says:

Great work Tyler! I started following your blog about the time you were on CNN (saw a link, and checked it out, which led to the blog), but I haven’t checked it in a couple weeks. As I caught up, I was so pulling for you! You’ll get there. As someone with a much smaller goal, I’ve often wondered why I can’t just follow through and lose the 30 lbs I feel I need to lose. Enjoy those .2 lbs, but don’t go easy on yourself!

  32. beej says:

So freaking close. How frustrating. I say just blast through it this week. Let’s see 198 next time! Congrats, Tyler. You kick butt!

  33. Mary says:

You know, sometimes you just can’t catch a break. But, my mom always said that patience is a virtue… So look at it this way – the best is yet to come: the celebration, the congratulations, etc. Now you have something to look forward to next week! Seriously, thanks for helping me focus on my goals. When I start to stray, all I have to do is remind myself of what you have accomplished and then I know I can do it too.

  34. Tamikka says:

I am sitting at 203. This is a blessed point in weight loss. I can’t wait to cross over to ONEderland.

    Woo hoo! You’re so close.

  35. Christine says:

A very significant week for you!! Very possibly your last week in the 200s. Only you can make you hit your goal next week and it’s so within reach!! I hope you get there. I’ll be thinking of you!

  36. Julia says:

    Why 199.8?
The last 5 aesthetic pounds are the hardest to drop.
Never not once in my life, have I felt like I was thin enough…
Even though, when I look back now my goals seem much closer, but no easier to attain.
