    I think it’s awesome. You should party when you hit that 199.8 mark. You certainly worked hard and persevered to get there!

    You have stayed with it for 66 weeks, I am so impressed. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have started week 1 over. After a couple of days I throw in the towel and say what’s the use. Why do I do that? I definitely have health issues that can be resolved by losing weight and getting into better shape.

    I have done it before but know after having my kids I just can’t seem to keep the drive going for very long.

    What are some of your secrets to your great success?

    I feel you, Tyler. I was only 2.4 pounds away from my Weight Watchers goal weight, but last Saturday I was up 0.8!!! I was so aggravated. I’m sure I’ll get there soon, just not on my little self-appointed timetable. But we shouldn’t take anything away from our accomplishments so far!

    I’m frustrated for you today. I know everyone here is like “congrats” but I seriously gave out a hearty “F**K” when I read your post.

    Crossing over into 199 is probably something you never thought you’d see in the beginning of this journey and now here it is dangling right in front of you…grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

    I’m gonna go get on a treadmill and work out my frustrations for both you and me. If that scale doesn’t move for you next week I am seriously coming out there and taking a baseball bat to that thing.

    I’m currently stuck. I don’t know what else to do.. so I’m upping my calorie intake which may be the issue.

    Way to go Tyler! I’ve been stuck in a plateau since I lost 25 pounds about a year ago. Watching you keep going has at least kept me trying.

    It’s probably best for your body now that you’re losing slowly because you’re probably gaining muscle. Have you noticed any difference in the way you look over since the 7th?

  19. When does the scale ever read .0 anymore?

    There’s always a “point something”, and for it to come up exactly 200 pounds? Sucks. I mean, obviously you lost weight and that was good, but to wait one more week to hit your goal wait sucks.

    No sushi this week, right?

    Maybe I’ve missed reading why 198.8 (vs 200) is so important? You’ve achieved all your other goals so just keep chugging along and it will happen eventually right?

    Ever since I started reading your blog, I’ve been really striving to be more intentional about exercise and healthier eating. But I still find myself back in bad habits like eating throughout the day even though I’m not hungry, and I decided that making my weight a public matter might help motivate me to leave the Cheez-its in the vending machine when I’m tempted… So, we’ll see how it goes! I’m 22.8 lbs away from my goal.

    Have really enjoyed reading about your journey. Your realistic approach is a breath of fresh air to those of us who have fallen off the wagon and tried all of the gimmicks a few times.

    I’m down from 300 to 280 lbs in the last 6 weeks. Having my gallbladder out last week brought be down 10 lbs alone, mostly due to the nothing-but-fruit-and-lots-of-water diet. It feels great, and I know that the only way to get this done is to expend more calories than I’m taking in. Excited to get down to 200 by the end of the year.

    Because it’s my goal. 198.8 is what I set out to accomplish, 200 is not. Any difference health wise? Absolutely not.

    But 198.8 pounds is my goal.

    Great work Tyler! I started following your blog about the time you were on CNN (saw a link, and checked it out, which led to the blog), but I haven’t checked it in a couple weeks. As I caught up, I was so pulling for you! You’ll get there. As someone with a much smaller goal, I’ve often wondered why I can’t just follow through and lose the 30 lbs I feel I need to lose. Enjoy those .2 lbs, but don’t go easy on yourself!

    You know, sometimes you just can’t catch a break. But, my mom always said that patience is a virtue… So look at it this way – the best is yet to come: the celebration, the congratulations, etc. Now you have something to look forward to next week! Seriously, thanks for helping me focus on my goals. When I start to stray, all I have to do is remind myself of what you have accomplished and then I know I can do it too.

    Why 199.8?
    The last 5 aesthetic pounds are the hardest to drop.
    Never not once in my life, have I felt like I was thin enough…
    Even though, when I look back now my goals seem much closer, but no easier to attain.
