    I didn’t indulge this holiday. I think it becomes too easy to make a habit of, and I don’t want to be one of those people who gain 20lbs over the holidays because I couldn’t resist eating a pan of fudge by myself. Holidays are a great excuse to lose track of progress and waste the next 3 months (or more) working off.

    I indulged also – BOY, did I indulge. was nice but for some reason it’s never as good as I “build it up to be” in my mind. Lack of structure gives me a license to get stupid …. so as much as I hate to say it, I am looking forward to structure and work and routine. have been to the gym maybe 3 times in the past two weeks – and what’s weird is that I actually feel like taking a walk today!

    I didnt indulge and I am proud of myself! I went to the gym on xmas day, didnt yesterday and then today I went (hard and long) and tomorrow through Friday I will. I did, however, indulge in a little too much alcohol which is probably worse than food over-indulgence but thats over now; I am calling this week “super lean” week. I am plateauing a little and need to shake things up.

    I aslo indulged for a few days straight, but was back at the gym christmas evening and have lost the 1 lb I gained this last week already. Back at it today…got to lose my last 17 lbs of baby weight I gained (I’ve lost 33 of the 50 I gained; my baby turned 10 wks on Saturday). After I am back to my pre-prego weight, my goal is to lose another 20. At that point I will re-evaluate and set new goals; building muscle tone and what not 🙂

    I indulged by eating without counting my calories, but I could have done a lot worse! I ate mostly low fat meals and I ran yesterday 3 miles. Over all, what a awesome improvement from where I was 2 years ago!

    I disagree. When you are starting out, like I am now, it’s dangerous to go overboard during the holidays. It’s too tempting to say “screw it I’ll start again after new years. Then you don’t…I know, I’ve been there before

    No. I think a lot of people get on track the Monday after Christmas, but may will just wait until next Monday, 2011… after blowing this entire week off. Oh well.

    I gained 2 pounds over the holiday — when I talk about indulge, I don’t mean eat everything you see. I mean eat more than usual, but don’t be a pig. There’s moderation in everything, I suppose. If it takes someone more than 3 months to work off weight gained during a holiday span of a couple of days, there’s some serious issues to be addressed. That’s not casual eating.

    Lack of structure, routine, etc gives everyone a license to get stupid. You should hate to say it at all, I look forward to work, routine, etc as well. It’s nice to have a pattern, it’s only human.

    It was nice seeing you too, Cheryl. It’s hard to talk much in a room full of other people, especially I suppose when half the time I’m outside throwing the football with your husband. It was fun, regardless, and hope you have a great New Year as well!

    I feel the same way. While I indulged, I didn’t pig out and could have done much, much worse. I did just fine, in my opinion.

    Of course it’s not casual eating. But with, what.. almost half the American population overweight? I don’t suspect we have a lot of casual eaters. 😉

    Well today was my first day on the elliptical. 688 calories for 40 min!!!
    My goal is to lose 100lbs by March 5…my birthday…by doing exactly what TYLER did…2100 cals, oodles of water and oodles of cardio! I am shooting for 60min tomorrow! Amped up folks!
