Week 98: Weigh-in Results

Thanksgiving aside, the last several weeks have been very good.
I had a few slices of pizza while I watched the Gamecocks get beat by Auburn Saturday night (around 3,000 calories total for Saturday) and a cheeseburger, fries, and ice cream (cookies and cream!) for lunch on Sunday. I still managed to have only about 2,500 calories for Sunday, and around 2,000 – 2,100 for the remainder of the last seven days.
I consider that a successful week.
I’ve gone to the gym every day for the past seven days, which obviously includes past weekend. It seems that going to the gym on the weekend makes me more conscious of what I eat over the weekend, so that’s a huge plus. I haven’t spent much time there over the weekend (30-minute sessions), but getting dressed, burning a few calories, reminding myself of my goals, etc., gets me thinking of calories consumed, not just burned.
It’s simple, really. I don’t like wasting my time, and there’s no point (or not much of one) to go to the gym for 30-minutes on a Sunday then go eat a huge, calorie-laden meal. It’s a waste. This is also why I recommend working out in the morning like I do if possible, as it makes you more conscious of your food decisions throughout the day.
