A couple songs I love right now are ‘Dope – You Spin Me Round’ and ‘Papa Roach – Burn’

  2. Max says:

Check out the new Shinedown song Diamond Eyes and Yeah Yeah Yeah by the New Politics

  3. Esther says:

I often listen to One Republic’s “Marchin On” at the gym because it keeps me going when I want to stop. You should add it to your list ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Cathy says:

I like Love the Way You Lie, Eminem and Rihanna. The Cave by Mumford & Sons. Howlin For You by the Black Keys.

  5. Tyler says:

    I’ll definitely check it out!

  6. Tyler says:

For a second there, I thought you said Black Eye Peas… a band I once listened to for workout music, but then I realized almost every song they make is the same.

  7. Cory says:

Linkin Park and Sick Puppies, awesome!!!!!! Rip Tide by Sick Puppies is a good one, Rihanna Don’t Stop the Music, Pink So What….. and Love the Way You Lie Rihanna & Eminem (like Cathy said above) its my new favorite.

  8. Nancy says:

you need to take off Marilyn Manson โ€“ Use Your Fist
    he is the Devil
everything else sounds great that you have
ACDC and Def Leppard are good ones

  9. don says:

Seriously.. download “Ali In The Jungle” by The Hours. It was featured in a recent gatorade commercial and is currently my favorite workout song. Highly recommended.

  10. Lisa says:

I usually listen to Pandora when I work out. It chooses the hits for me!

  11. Colleen says:

I put whole cds on the iPod and then hit random. Right now I have on there: Slayer (Seasons In The Abyss), Anthrax (Among The Living), Judas Priest (Screaming For Vengeance), System of A Down (Toxicity), WASP (WASP), Metallica (And Justice For All), Danzig (Danzig), Iron Maiden (Live After Death), and Pantera (Vulgar Display of Power).

LOL – all stuff I listened to in high school! I’m so not well versed in new music!

    Fratmusic.com

rip an entire playlist and jam out to some techno tunes

  13. Dan C says:

Lil Wayne’s Right Above It. The violins and trumpets with the sweet raps always gets me in the “I’ve got a mission!” mood. Oh and Drake’s Forever. “Last name ever, first name greatest”. Awesome first line.

  14. Tyler says:

I added the Dope song to my playlist. And, Papa Roach is good too, I’m just worn out from listening to them so much.

  15. Tyler says:

Definitely well, love Shinedown. The acoustic stuff they did, albeit not for a playlist, is amazing.

  16. Tyler says:

Even though Pink is more of an artist for girls (hey, and that’s coming from me, and I like Lady Gaga!), I do like So What. It’s a pretty rebellious song.

  17. Tyler says:

I know what you mean, Nancy. I don’t care for his views what so ever, but I just listen to the music for the beat. It helps me workout. Definitely good suggestions though, ACDC and Def are classics.

  18. Tyler says:

I listened to it… honestly, seems a little slow to me. Good song, nonetheless, but I can’t imagine getting pumped up by this. I need fast, loud, and angry.

  19. Tyler says:

Pandora isn’t on my iPod! ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Tyler says:

I know what you mean, Colleen — my playlist really revolves around things I listened to in high school as well. I always thought I’d stay up with the times and always like the “current” music — truthfully, I love 90s music.

  21. Tyler says:

    Thanks for the link, Nick.

  22. Tyler says:

Never heard Forever before, but I listened to it on Youtube… that’ll definitely be on a future playlist.

  23. Ashlee says:

    Hi Tyler!

Loooooove your blog and look forward to having your updates in my inbox! You are very inspirational – keep up the fantastic work! I’ve noticed you don’t have any Rise Against in your playlist and am thinking it would fit in very nicely to what you’ve got going on. I listen to “angry/hard rock” when I’m pumping iron, and these two following songs ALWAYS get me fired up. Enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Re-Education Through Labour & The Artist In the Ambulance (listen to the lyrics on this one, I find them very motivating!)

    Cheers,
    Ashlee

I’ve been on a HUGE Arnocorps tip lately; they’re a local band from San Francisco who sing songs about Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. All their song names are pretty much just the names of Schwarzenegger movies (Commando, Predator, True Lies, Terminator, Last Action Hero)

Although one of my favorite tracks from them is called ‘I’m Ballsy’ and the video pretty much a guide on how I want to live my life (pump hella iron, smoke cigars, ride motorcycles)

    Amazing, amazing stuff.

  25. Paolo says:

    PS:
They made Last Action Hero pretty amazing too:

  26. DianaQ says:

    Have you tried latin music?
After I step off the elliptical, I usually do a dancing session to latin music. I’m far from being a good dancer, but they keep me moving.
    Songs that I would recommend:

Carlos Vives: “La Gota Fria”, “Mi consentida”
    Chelo: “Chacha”
