Do You Hate to Exercise?
I respect people who like to run as their way of burning calories. Most folks that like to run make a hobby out of it and do it often.
I don’t mind running, in fact I enjoy it, but I prefer to run with a purpose — playing basketball, kickball, running from lions, that kind of thing.
Fortunately, there’s no wrong or right way to burn calories.
I love playing basketball. As promised, I’m dedicating more time to it at night to burn some extra calories. I usually go outside with my daughter around 7 and stay out and play until my
mom wife calls me in.
Most nights I’ll stay outside for 30-45 minutes, while on a rare occasion I’ll stay for one to two hours. Last night I stayed outside long after the sun went down. I played basketball for two hours while rocking out to my new 90s music playlist.
When it comes to exercising and burning calories, I offer the same advice as I do when it comes to counting calories — do something you can stick with for the rest of your life. This usually means you have to enjoy it. I made running the example above because so many people hate the treadmill, but think that it’s the key to rapid weight loss. Every treadmill in America is occupied on January first of every year, only to be empty once again come February.
If you hate exercising, find something to do that you don’t call exercise.
